Infrared Signatures:

An IR signature is the Quantitive measurement of a target's apparent infrared brightness as a function of wavelength. Signature Measurements are used to determine the appearance of a target to sensors under varying conditions of standoff distance and atmosphere, and to constrain the design of vehicle, sensor and camouflage systems.
