Approved for IICRC Continuing Education Credits

N. Billerica, MA, July 27, 2005. The infrared building science certification course offered by the Building Science Institute (BSI) in conjunction with the Infrared Training Center (ITC), the world’s largest thermographer training organization, has been approved for Continuing Education Credits by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC).

IICRC registrants who complete the three and a half day course will receive two points in the IICRC’s cleaning/restoration category.

The class is the only training course in the U.S. that's ISO-9001 registered. Upon successful completion of the class, students become Certified Building Science Thermographers, so if they work for an ISO-9000 company, they'll have fulfilled their obligation for proper training. The course includes intensive one-on-one instruction in camera operation and building fundamentals as required by individual students to achieve certification level skills.

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is a non-profit standard setting body and certification registry, founded in 1972 to establish and monitor educational programs and standards for the inspection, cleaning and restoration service industries. The IICRC is controlled by 16 non-profit trade associations located in Australia, Canada, England and the United States. It has 27,500 registrants in 21 countries throughout the world. The IICRC has promulgated several standards addressing carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, water damage restoration and mold remediation.
