FLIR Adds RTools™ Infrared Imaging Software to GSA Schedule
5/25/2004
Streamlines government agency acquisition process
N. Billerica MA, May 25, 2004 – FLIR Systems, Inc., the global leader in infrared technology and systems, has announced that its ThermaCAM® RTools software suite has been added to its General Services Administration schedule. GSA schedules streamline the acquisition process by enabling government agencies to buy products directly from private-sector suppliers at a discount and without a competitive bidding process.
Jeff Frank, VP, Director of Business Development for FLIR's Indigo Products group, said, "The addition of RTools to the FLIR GSA schedule allows agencies to facilitate the purchase of this unique suite of software solutions for the FLIR family of infrared cameras and camera systems. This enhances FLIR's market position by enabling us to deliver complete infrared camera solutions to commercial, homeland security, and military clients.”
The ThermaCAM RTools software suite was created to specifically address the rigorous requirements of scientists and researchers who need thermographic and radiometric measurements of dynamic events. RTools software has been utilized for several years by various government facilities and test ranges with FLIR and Indigo infrared cameras. The RTools suite includes four stand-alone modules: RDac™ for data acquisition, RCal™ for IR camera calibration, REdit™ for file archiving and maintenance, and RView™ for data review and analysis. Created for flexible and extensible use in data archiving, RTools utilizes the U.S. Air Force Standard Archive Format (SAF) for ease of use, data archiving, and data storage.
